I finished this bottle a while back (probably over a month ago) but just got around to doing the blog entry now.  It is a solid and respectable rum.  It has a little bit of that fruitiness that I've come to expect from Jamaican rums.  It's sweet but not too sweet.  It does not have an overwhelming vanilla or caramel flavour like a lot of gold rums.

It has also become more of a go-to for me when I am out.  I am not sure exactly when, but most bars now use Captain Morgan as their bar rail (i.e. default rum).  And we all know how I feel about Captain Morgan.

But I discovered that Appleton is distributed by the same company as Captain Morgan.  So it generally means that if a bar carries Captain Morgan, they also have this far superior product.
